Less than an hours drive south of Las Vegas, Goodsprings takes you back in time.... to the days of the Pioneers and the hard life they lived. I wouldn't call it a true Ghost town as it is populated and has a mixture of old buildings and newer buildings. There are signs of the old mines and some of the current residence have rail cars and track in their yards. So there are many excellent picture taking opportunities for Photographers seeking some unique shots.. To get to Goodsprings, head south on the 15 towards California. Take the Exit 12 in Jean and turn right. Drive about 7 miles to the town. |
The real draw to Goodsprings is the Pioneer Saloon the famous Bar Clark Gable drank his sorrow's away after learning of the death of his wife actress Carol Lombard, who had been killed in a plane crash on Mt Potosi. Often used in Television and Movies the Pioneer Saloon draws visitors from around the world. On the Weekends it's a popular destination for Motorcycle clubs and locals.
